Singer-songwriter Christina Grimmie died on Saturday, June 11 (Philippine time) from gunshot wounds sustained after a concert in Orlando, Florida, said CNN.
“It is with a heavy heart that we can confirm that Christina has passed and went home to be with the Lord,” said publicist Heather Weiss.
Grimmie, 22, had been signing autographs after a performance with the band Before You Exit when a man carrying two guns approached before shooting her, said Orlando Police spokesman Wanda Ford.

After being tackled by Grimmie’s brother, the gunman shot himself. Ford called Grimmie’s brother “a hero” for stopping the man from hurting other people at the event.
Grimmie had been in critical condition when she was rushed to the hospital, but died hours later.
Weiss asked Grimmie’s supporters to “respect the privacy of her family and friends in their time of mourning.”
Grimmie even encouraged fans on Twitter to attend the Orlando concert.

Grimmie, who is known for song covers she posted with her YouTube channel, finished third in the sixth season of “The Voice” in 2014. She was mentored by fellow singer Adam Levine.
