Christina Grimmie’s killer was “boundlessly infatuated” with her, to the point that he went under the knife just to win her heart.

A highly cited TMZ report on June 17 (Philippine time), quoted Kevin Loibl’s co-workers as saying that “he went on a mission to change his appearance for her”.

Loibl, 27, became a vegan and had Lasik eye surgery as well as hair transplants to make himself appealing to Grimmie.

Loibl’s co-workers at Best Buy recalled him listening to his music at work, vowing “she would someday be his wife.” The singer-songwriter’s assailant hinted at meeting her during a show in March, and playing online games with her. Grimmie’s camp, however, denied that she ever had contact with Loibl.

The co-workers also recalled teasing Loibl “that he would never score” Grimmie, who was speculated by TMZ to be involved with her producer; according to photos on her Instagram account. This allegedly “enraged” Loibl.

After her concert at the Plaza Live in Orlando, Florida, Loibl fatally shot Grimmie as she was signing autographs at a meet-and-greet with fans. Grimmie was immediately rushed to the hospital but succumbed to her wounds a few hours later.
