Authorities in Kuwait arrested and detained eight Filipina domestic helpers who fled from their employers, a news site reported Monday, June 20.
The eight were arrested in the Hawally area after one of the employers tipped off authorities, the Kuwait Times reported.
Citing security sources, the report said the eight used to provide private nursing and day-to-day housemaid services.
A case has been filed and the eight were referred to relevant authorities, it added.
Meanwhile, Kuwait Times reported the arrest of 11 people violating residency laws in Jahra and Ardhiya industrial area.
While the report did not specify if Filipinos were among the 11, it said those arrested were Asians.
