Lacson to Pacquiao: Time to consider being a ‘full-time public servant’

Senator Panfilo Lacson believes that it is now time for Senator Manny Pacquiao to consider being a “full time public servant.”

Lacson’s unsolicited advice came after Pacquiao lost his WBO welterweight title via unanimous decision Sunday to Australian boxer Jeff Horn.

“Although it is his decision to call it quits or still go on fighting inside the ring, as a friend and colleague who cares for him and his future, I sincerely think it is time that he considered being a full time public servant,” Lacson said on Monday, July 3.

“In fact, I remember giving him the same advice last year before his Jesse Vargas fight in November 2016,” he said.

Before this, Lacson posted a message on his Twitter account which reads, “Lesson learned: It is best to leave the stage while the audience is applauding.”

The senator though did not make any specific reference to Pacquiao.
