President Benigno Aquino III lauded the Filipino workers for their significant contribution to the country’s progress under his six-year administration.
In his final Labor Day message, President Aquino praised the Filipino labor force, both domestic and abroad, for showing hard work, diligence and professionalism.
He said, under his leadership, the workers responded to the call to build better relations with the industry, adopted fast-evolving technologies and proved that Filipino workers can compete in the global market.
Overseas workers as well as the members of the uniformed services also joined the march towards national transformation and reform, he added.
He said the country is proud of the united efforts of Filipinos to elevate the quality of work in the Philippine society.
As he steps down from office in June, Aquino urged the Filipino workers to sustain the gains of good governance by continuing the reforms he has started.
