Ateneo, FEU clash anew
for second spot in Finals

November 30 2016 3:13 PM

The Ateneo Blue Eagles and the Far Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws will face each other in a winner-take-all encounter for the right to play La Salle in the Finals of the UAAP men’s basketball tournament.

Game time is at 4 p.m. at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on Wednesday, November 30.

The Tamaraws defeated the Blue Eagles, 62-61, in the first game of their best-of-three semifinals.

Enjoying a twice-to-beat advantage, the Eagles needed to win only once and had the chance to do so last Saturday, Nov. 26, when they led by as much as 10 points heading into the fourth quarter of the game.

The Tamaraws, however, refused to throw in the towel as the defending champions completed their comeback with a win that forced Wednesday’s do-or-die.

The league-leading Archers disposed of the Adamson Soaring Falcons to enter the Finals for the 15th time since joining the UAAP in 1986.
