While Apple has yet to make an official announcement on its iPhone 7, Chinese manufacturers are already coming up with accessories for the next iteration of the popular smartphone.

One such accessory is a dongle or “adapter” for a 3.5-mm audio jack that connects to the phone’s Lightning port, Apple-oriented site 9to5mac reported.

Earlier reports had indicated the iPhone 7 will ditch the 3.5-mm jack in favor of Lightning-connected earbuds or headsets.

The site also cited information from Japan-based Macotakara indicating a “couple” of Chinese companies are already advertising the 3.5mm-to-Lightning adapters.

However, 9to5mac said these items are more likely dummies or prototypes at this stage. MC
