Inday Sara Duterte, daughter of President-elect Rodrigo Duterte, arrived in Manila on Tuesday, June 28, time for her father’s inauguration in Malacanang on Thursday, June 30.
Inday Sara, newly elected mayor of Davao City, emerged from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 at around 2 p.m.
Elizabeth Zimmerman, ex-wife of President Duterte, and eldest son, Davao City Vice Mayor Pablo Duterte, have also arrived in Manila at around 9 a.m.
Sebastian, popularly known as Baste, youngest child of the incoming President, is expected to arrive in Manila tonight, June 28, or tomorrow morning.
Zimmerman said that they will stay in Manila until July 1 to celebrate the birth anniversary of one of her grand children.
Inday Sara and Pablo did not grant any interviews upon their arrival, a radio report said.
The two Duterte children just smiled and waved at the waiting members of the press. Inday Sara then boarded a black vehicle en route to Makati City.
Earlier, Cielito “Honeylet” Avancena, common-law husband of President Duterte, has said that she and her team will give the incoming commander-in-chief a fashion makeover for his inaugural.
Avancena said several fashion designers from Davao have volunteered to dress up the incoming president during his oath of office.
“I appreciate that. May grupo ng fashion designer na nag-volunteer para damitan s’ya sa June 30,” said Avancena, who is in charge of the Duterte’s outfits on June 30, during an interview on “TV Patrol” news program on ABS-CBN recently.
The Davao Tourism Board, she said, has earlier invited 10 designers to submit their creations for the President and the kind of fabric they will use.
Duterte will have the final say on what he will wear during the inauguration, Avancena said.
“Sa cloth pag medyo rough hindi sya pwede. Tapos binabasa nya ng dila nya yung tela para maramdaman n’ya yung cloth. Noong isang araw may nagbigay sa kanya ng tela kaso hindi pwede yun sa kanya,” Avancena said.
“May mga specific length sya na gusto. Tapos yung shoulder nya kasi iba yung kurba. MInsan hindi nakukuha yung tabas kaya naka-angat yung damit nya. Tapos lahat ng damit nya walang itiketa,” she said in the same interview.
