FEU thwarts Ateneo,
forces winner-take-all

November 26 2016 6:30 PM

If there’s any team in the UAAP men’s basketball tournament that can spoil another dream Finals between Ateneo and La Salle, it’s Far Eastern University (FEU).

And the defending champion Tamaraws did not disappoint as they thwarted the Eagles, 62-61, on Saturday, November 26, to force a winner-take-all at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on Wednesday, Nov. 30.

The No. 3 seed Tamaraws, whom the Eagles dominated in the two-round eliminations, need to beat Ateneo twice to book a return trip to the best-of-three Finals where they would face the La Salle Green Archers.

The Archers disposed of the Adamson Soaring Falcons on Wednesday, Nov. 23, and would be playing in the Finals for the 15th time since joining the collegiate league in 1986.
