France’s ambassador to the Philippines discussed trade, human rights and climate change with President-elect Rodrigo Duterte last June 24, the French embassy in Manila said.
The embassy posted photos of French Ambassador Thierry Mathou meeting with Duterte in Davao City last Friday, June 24.
It said Mathou traveled to Davao City “to personally congratulate” Duterte.
“During the one hour meeting, they had a candid discussion on different issues, including bilateral relations, with a particular focus on trade and investments, human rights, climate change, and international affairs,” it said.
Duterte will formally assume the presidency on Thursday, June 30. MC
