Below are some fast facts about former Senator Ernesto Maceda as gathered by NewsCentral.PH:

* more than 50 years in public service, 43 years in high gov’t posts;
* dubbed by the Philippine Free Press as “ Mr. Expose” for having unearthed over 200 anomalies in the Executive Department of the government, including the PEA Amari scam;
* authored and co-authored 600 laws;
* at the age of 23 he became No.1 Councilor of Manila in 1959;
* at the age of 29, he was the youngest cabinet member of the Marcos Administration;
* in 1966 he was appointed as Secretary of Community Development;
* in 1969 he was appointed as Chairman of the Commission on Reorganization;
* in 1970, the Commerce and Industry portfolio was given to him;
* authored the so called “Maceda Law”, which grants protection to real estate buyers on installment basis (the only bill signed into law before the declaration of Martial Law);

* appointed by President Joseph Estrada as Ambassador to the United States from 1999-2001;

* served an apostolate to the Mother Ignacia Healing Center, Bagumbong, Kalookan City where Sister Gloria Ross, R.V.M. gave him the title “Ambassador of God”;

* earned his Bachelor of Laws degree, Cum Laude, from the Ateneo de Manila University in 1956;
