The most awaited Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) bout between actors Baron Geisler and Kiko Matos at the Valkyrie Club in Taguig City on June 25 ended in a draw.
Both competitors shook hands and hugged before the result was announced.
The exhibition match was featured at the Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) which raised money for the P800,000 bail of political Maricon Montakes, a film and audio-visual communication student of the University of the Philippines.
Matos nearly pinned down Geisler during the first round but was able to weather his punches.
On the second round, it was Geisler nearly overpowered his opponent but was not able to score.
Both fighters were not able to land punches, which resulted to the draw.
“Wala na, wala nang pride. Tanggal na ‘yung yabang. I believe we both respect each other as actors and human beings. Congratulations, Kiko,” said Geisler in an interview with ABS-CBN News.
Matos also exhibited sportsmanship and had finally put an end to their rift.
“’Yung niyakap ko siya sa ring, sa ‘kin po totoo po yon. Totoo rin ‘yung kayap ni Baron. Ang sabi ko mahal ko siya, wala nang bigwasan,” said Matos. MC
