Guess who graced the baseball game between the New York Mets and the Cincinnati Reds this week?
None other than 2015 Miss Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, according to a report on NJ.com on Wednesday night, April 26 (Thursday in Manila).
The report said Wurtzbach was invited to throw the first pitch at CitiField, home of the Mets.
To loosen up Wurtzbach, from the Philippines, threw several pitches to Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard in front of the Mets’ dugout and talked to their mascot, “Mr. Met”, and fans, according to the report.
While Wurtzbach’s throw from the mound to catcher Kevin Plawecki before game time was “short and to the right of home”, it “wasn’t bad”, according to the report.
Before Wurtzbach, retired world boxing icon Manny Pacquiao threw a first pitch at the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Stadium during a game between the Dodgers and the Washington Nationals in September 2014.
Pacquiao also threw a ceremonial first pitch at the San Francisco Giants-Milwaukee Brewers game at the AT&T Park in San Francisco California.
At that time, Pacquiao was in the US to promote his fight with American Chris Algieri whom he defeated.
