A group of lawyers will file an impeachment complaint against Vice President Leni Robredo on May 2, Tuesday.
The group, headed by lawyers Bruce Rivera and Trixie Angeles and professor Antonio Contreras, will cite betrayal of public trust as ground for seeking to remove Robredo in office.
The complaint will be filed at the House of Representatives at 1 p.m., Rivera announced in the Facebook page of the “Impeach Leni Movement.”
In an earlier news conference, the group said Robredo betrayed public trust with her video message aired before a meeting at the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs, in which she spoke about the thousands of lives claimed by the Duterte administration’s war on drugs.
An impeachment complaint against Robredo was earlier filed by lawyer Oliver Lozano and Melchor Chavez, but it has no endorser yet from among the members of the House of Representatives.
