June 25 2016 8:36 AM

Families in parts of Maguindanao and Sultan Kudarat sought higher ground early Saturday, June 25, as heavy rain caused flash floods reaching waist-high levels on Friday evening, June 24, according to radio reports.

Floods hit Mamasapano and Shariff Aguak towns in Maguindanao, also causing zero visibility along the highway between Cotabato City and Isulan town in Sultan Kudarat.

Floods have also swamped parts of Lambayong town in Sultan Kudarat since June 22, prompting the suspension of classes in some areas.
