Season 79 basketball hunks

Cue the screams: The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 79 basketball hunks are here!

These UAAP basketball players will not only be admired for their swag on the court but also for their good looks.

We asked ladies from UAAP schools, players they would be swooning for and here’s the list.

Tyler Tio – Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) Blue Eagles

Tio makes his debut at UAAP basketball after a stellar high school stint at Xavier School.

ADMU fans said he is going to be the next Chris Tiu.


Robbie Manalang – Adamson University (AdU) Soaring Falcons

From Orange County California, Manalang is a student of Sports Management at AdU.

Robbie Polican of the Falcons described him as “the best point guard I have ever seen”.


Aljun Melecio – DLSU Green Archers

Another rookie, Melecio was a member of UAAP Season 77 Juniors Mythical 5.

The 5’9’ De La Salle Zobel alum who was born and raised in Bukidnon has a bright future ahead – not only in court but also with a number of endorsements, squeezed in to his busy schedule.


Monbert Arong Racaza – FEU Tamaraws

Racaza is one of the teams’ most popular players with almost 10,000 friends and followers on Facebook.

No surprise for this Fil-Oil alum from Cebu who was a recipient of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (Cesafi) scholarship.


Joshua Sinclair – National University (NU) Bulldogs

This early NU’s recruit has drawn comparisons to UAAP alum now PBA player JC Intal.

He was also offered by Ateneo and DLSU but had opted to be with the Bulldogs.


Diego Dario – University of the Philippines (UP) Maroons

Dario was a member of the Fiba Under-17 World Championship team who competed in Dubai in 2014.

He said an interview with spin.ph that despite the team’s unlucky UAAP basketball stint the UP Integrated School star player said he would remain with the Maroons.


Paul Varilla – University of the East (UE) Red Warriors

In a rivals.ph interview team captain Varilla revealed his huge crush on former UAAP star, Ateneo volleyball player now TV host Gretchen Ho.

The Management major said during the UAAP press conference that their team would move to the finals’ Top 4 because of “experience”.


Louie Vigil – University of Santo Tomas (UST) Growling Tigers

He almost missed the season due to an age requirement rule. But Vigil is back!

In an interview with foxsportsasia.com he said that he and his teammates would like to redeem themselves after experiencing three runner-up stints in previous UAAP basketball finals.
