Entertainer Mocha Uson has denied having been offered a post in the Cabinet of presumptive President Rodrigo “Digong” Duterte.
Uson issued the clarification on her Facebook account on May 14 after receiving a barrage of tweets bashing her when rumors swirled that she was going to be appointed as Cabinet secretary.
, said Uson on her FB blog accompanied by a screengrab of posts from her Twitter bashers.
(Many have bashed me on Twitter. They said I don’t have the right to be assume any government position. Let me say this: you have a dirty mind! Your brains are rotten! Not because someone helped or supported him doesn’t mean that the person deserves to be given a post. What kind of thinking is that? If everyone who helped Duterte would be given a post, government would be filled to the brim cause millions supported him!)
Uson reiterated that her support, along with the members of the all-girl group Mocha Girls, which she leads, was voluntary. In recent months, the group was among entertainers who joined Duterte’s campaign sorties.
(I don’t plan to join politics. I believe that you don’t have to be in government to help others.)
To celebrate Duterte’s win, Uson and the Mocha Girls held a thanksgiving party for the street children of Las Pinas City last May 12.
