More victims of an alleged rapist preying on his passengers aboard his vehicle have come out in the open to “positively” identify him as their assailant, according to Quezon City police on Wednesday, June 22.
Quoted on radio, Chief Inspector Rodel Marcelo of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said one of the victims of Wilfredo Lorenzo, visited him in jail on Tuesday night, June 21 and accused him of robbing and then raping her in April.
The unidentified female said she took a cab that Lorenzo was driving in Makati where he announced a hold-up and then assaulted her before dropping her off in Quezon City.
She was the sixth complainant against Lorenzo who was arrested on June 13 in Novaliches after he and alleged accomplice, Alfie Turado, robbed and raped another female passenger aboard a UV Express in Quezon City.
Police said two other victims, identified as call center agents, also pointed to Lorenzo. They claimed that while he did not rape them, he hit them, pulled their hair and robbed them after.
Turado was killed last Friday, June 17, as he tried to grapple with the gun of a policeman at the Quezon City police station where Lorenzo has been detained.
Turado was turned over to authorities via citizens’ arrest.
Lorenzo and Turado confronted each other and accused one another of the crime.
Before he was killed, Turado denied the allegation.
