A United Arab Emirates court sentenced a Pakistani worker to three months in jail for molesting a Filipina last February, a UAE news site reported Tuesday, June 14.

The Court of First Instance also ordered the deportation of the Pakistani, 23, for harassing, hugging and groping the woman, Khaleej Times reported.

However, the report said the verdict may be appealed.

Court records showed the incident occurred last Feb. 28, when the Filipina, 26, was walking home to her apartment in Al Quoz.

According to the Filipina, the Pakistani talked to her and asked for her number, but she did not respond. She said he then offered her money to see him, but she ignored him.

She said he then grabbed her hands, pulled her towards him and tried to kiss her. When she screamed and pushed him away, he grabbed her neck.

The Filipina said she screamed for help when she saw a man walking towards them. This prompted the accused to flee.
