Signal No. 4 us up over Catanduanes as Typhoon “Nina” (international name: “Nock-Ten”) gets closer to the Bicol region, the state-run weather bureau said on Sunday, December 25.

As of 10 a.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophyscial and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) located the typhoon at 150 kilometers (km) east of Virac, Catanduanes.
It carries maximum sustained winds of up to 185 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 255 kph.
Typhoon “Nina” is expected to move west at 15 kph.
Moderate to heavy rainfall will be experienced within its 500 km-diameter, Pagasa said.
The typhoon is expected to make landfall on Sunday evening.
The bureau said sea travel would be risky over the seaboards of Luzon.
