Las-PinasA suspected drug dealer in Cebu and his bodyguard were gunned down in a police operation in Las Pinas City, Metro Manila last Friday night, June 17.

Cebu City Mayor-elect Tomas Osmena identified on his Facebook the slain suspect as Jeffrey “Jaguar” Diaz. He did not name the slain aide of Diaz.

“Jeffrey ‘Jaguar’ Diaz was killed while rotating among his eight safehouses in Las Piñas (City),” Osmena said.

Osmena said the Philippine National Police’s Regional Intelligence Division-7 headed by Col. Rex Derilo and Regional Special Operations Group-7 headed by Brgy. Labagnon’s Col. George Ylanan had tracked him there.

Osmena said Diaz had claimed he was retiring from the drug trade, but it turned out to be “false.”

He said surveillance showed Diaz “was setting up a new base of operations in Luzon.”

“Cebu exports many things, but we will not export that,” Osmena added. MC
