US President Donald Trump expressed his appreciation to Bill and Hillary Clinton for attending the inauguration on Friday, January 20 (Saturday in Manila) at United States Capitol in Washington D.C.
“I was very honored. Very-very honored when I heard President Bill Clinton and Secretary Clinton was coming today, And I think it is appropriate to say, and I’d like you to stand up (to Clintons),” Trump said in his remarks at the congressional luncheon, broadcast live on CNN.
Trump and guests accorded a standing ovation and applause to Bill and Hillary Clinton.
“And honestly there is nothing more I can say because I have a lot of respect for these two people,” Trump added.
Trump also thanked guests and expressed that “We gonna have four great years, hopefully of peace and prosperity. I will be working very-very hard.”
Aside from Bill and Hillary, former presidents George Bush with his wife Laura and Jimmy Carter with wife Rosalynn also attended the inauguration in Washington.
