Security will be tight in parts of the University of the Philippines’ Diliman campus on Sunday, June 26, for its 105th General Commencement Exercises, according to its Chancellor Michael Tan.
Tan said the graduation rites’ program proper would be from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. of June 26.
During this time, the use of the Oblation area will be restricted, while only authorized persons will be allowed at the stage and near the stage areas, according to UP Diliman in a post on its official account on Facebook.
Only authorized persons will be allowed at the Quezon Hall bridge, Tan added.
Before this, UP Diliman had undertaken extra security measures since June 19, such as:
* making Quezon Hall stage area and side stairs off limits to people, with pedestrians advised to use Quezon Hall steps in front of the lobby or across the stairs inside the building using the passageway beside UP System cash office at the basement
* disallowing vehicles from parking or crossing the road fronting the Amphitheater stage.
