applestore-afr-melbourneUsers of iPhones and iPads who don’t quite like stock apps like Apple Maps and Mail may have something to look forward to when Apple rolls out iOS 10, the next version of iOS.

The upcoming update to iOS will allow users to delete many of the preinstalled iOS apps such as Mail, Maps, Weather, Contacts and Notes, tech site Mashable reported.

But Mashable said other preinstalled apps like Messages, Phone, Safari, Photos and the App Store will remain untouchable.

It also noted many apps may become optional or deletable such as Weather and Calculator, as they appeared in the App Store.

An initial list of apps that can be deleted in iOS 10 includes:

iTunes Store
iBooks
Podcasts
Maps
Compass
Tips
Calculator
Watch
Voice Memos
