Cherry Pie Picache hopeful NBI probe can solve mother’s slay case

With the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) starting its investigation on the the death of her mother, actress Cherry Pie Picache expressed optimism that the case would be solved soon.

Picache went to the NBI on Thursday, September 25 and executed her statement before the Death Investigation Unit which, according to its chief lawyer Joel Tover, will serve as a formal complaint.

In an ambush interview, Picache thanked the public for their support and asked them to continue praying that justice would be served against those behind her mother’s slay.

“Maraming, maraming salamat sa lahat ng dasal at lahat ng suportang pinakita ng maraming, maraming tao, lalo sa kasamahan ko sa industriya. Please keep on praying justice will be served,” she said.

The NBI has already taken the statement of possible witnesses, including a couple who was initially invited by police for questioning but was eventually released.

After Picache executed her statement before the NBI investigators, the bureau agents proceeded to the residence of the victim, Zenaida Sison.

The NBI also asked officials of Barangay Paligsahan for a copy of the closed-circuit television footage of the area.

Picache’s mother was found dead on the second floor of her house in Quezon City late Friday, September 19.
