It seems like the Miss Universe crown was already destined for Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach at age 12.
In a throwback photo posted by actress Bea Alonzo on her Instagram account, she and former “K2BU” co-star Wurtzbach held hands in what looked like a scene from a beauty pageant.
Alonzo wrote: “premonition yata ito ng pagiging ms.universe mo @piawurtzbach ako pala ang ms.colombia dati mga nene pa tayo dito i was 14 and you were 12.. kakamiss maging bagets welcome back @piawurtzbach #k2BUdays”
(I think this was a premonition that you were to become Miss Universe @piawurtzbach and I would be Ms. Colombia. We were still very young girls then. I was 14 and you were 12. I miss being young. Welcome back @piawurtzbach.)
The photo had a semblance of Wurtzbach’s memorable albeit controversial moment, wearing an off-shoulder blue gown and her hair tied neatly at the back.
During the Miss Universe 2015 pageant the 26-year-old Wurtzbach wore a royal blue mermaid gown, and donned in a similar hairstyle.
Wurtzbach began her showbiz career at an early age and used the screen name Pia Romero.
A member of ABS-CBN’s Star Magic Batch 11, she appeared in the romance anthology “Your Song,” and “Sa Piling Mo.”
Her film credits include “All My Life” and “All About Love”.
Wurtzbach who co-starred with Alonzo and Shaina Magdayao in “K2BU” later became a make-up artist and a contributor of Philippine Daily Inquirer’s “2bU” section.
