In a radio interview on Monday, November 3, Reverend Father Amadeo Alvero, spokesperson of the Archdiocese of Palo, Leyte, said that the theme for the eight-day prayer was “prayer for the dead in the hope of resurrection.”

Rev. Fr. Alvero said that the octava will help in the resurrection of Tacloban.

“Merong symbolic po na pagbangon ang Tacloban” he said.

The province will mark November 8, 2014, the day of the anniversary, by holding various events in Tacloban and in Metro Manila.
