Fr. Jerome Marquez, SVD and program co-host of DZMM’s “Light Moments,” has asked Facebook followers to storm the heavens with prayers for blind singer Fatima Soriano.
“To everyone whose life Fatima has touched in some way. And also to other generous souls who would care about a girl who dedicated her life to heal everyone…Fatima Soriano needs your prayers now,” said Fr. Marquez.
Beginning the week of October 10 and for the next five weeks, he added that they are establishing a prayer brigade for the 23-year-old Soriano who was born blind. She underwent dialysis at age 9 due to kidney failure.
The rest of Fr. Marquez’ post read:
“We would like to request for prayers to be done twice a week on any convenient day for the following intention:
-Let us pray for Fatima’s complete healing and recovery – that her kidneys may gain its normal function.
– That her blood and her muscles may be brought back to health.
-That every organ in her body will be restored to full health by our prayers and intentions.
-That Fatima’s life may be miraculously extended for many many decades, as she continuous to serve God with her prayers, her healing and her songs.”
We all know that a healer cannot alone heal herself. This is a blessing that we are all now given, that we may take this unique opportunity to heal Fatima during this most trying times, when the glory of God will reveal itself at its finest moment. In Jesus Name….Amen.”
In 2003, then 10 years old, Soriano touched Fr. Jerry Orbos’ after she called him during his radio program at ZNN Radio Veritas where she spoke about trusting God’s grace and to be hopeful despite sufferings.
The two met in person and became instant friends. Soriano then became a regular presence in Fr. Orbos’ televised ABS-CBN’s Sunday masses.
A Marian devotee, Soriano is also a Star Records artist. She recorded the album titled “Visions” for the Blessed Virgin Mary in 2012.
Soriano has also appeared in Fr. Marquez’ DZMM’s radio program.
