Congressman Manny Pacquiao of Sarangani won via unanimous decision against Christopher Algieri on Sunday, November 23 at Venetian Macao’s Cotai Arena in Macau.
Pacquiao remained aggressive the whole match while Algieri was knocked down at least six times.
Pacquiao dominated the judges’ score board at 119-102, 119-102 and 120-102.
“Tonight, I did my best,” Pacquiao said in an interview after the game.
The welterweight champion said he was happy to see a big crowd of Filipinos who watched the match.
When asked if the most awaited match between him and Floyd Mayweather Jr. will happen anytime soon, Pacquiao said, “Is he going to fight me? Yes, yes, yes! I think I’m ready to fight him next year.”
Meanwhile, Algieri admitted that Pacquiao was a “hell of a fighter.”
