On her FB account, Kristine Madrigal Sarmiento, wrote: “Does anyone know how to get in touch with Ian de Leon, the actor and son of Nora Aunor and Christopher de Leon? I would like to personally thank him for rushing my son Ethan to the emergency room after he was hit by a speeding motorcycle. He was the only one who came to the rescue of a total stranger, while all the other people just passed by and looked at my bloody 10-year-old hapless on who was alone when the incident happened.”
Sarmiento said de Leon’s “act of kindness should be emulated by everyone” as there are “not too many good Samaritans anymore.”
Sarmiento said her son had a minor surgery on Sunday and was “still under observation.”
A screenshot of the post has circulated on social media and reached a number of showbiz personalities who were able to connect Sarmiento to de Leon. His aunt, former actress-singer Melissa de Leon-Joseph, sister of Christopher, was among those who saw Sarmiento’s post.
“Thank you. ‘Di ko kasi ma-search s’ya kasi may Kristoffer pala s’ya. But I spoke to him na po. Thank you very much,” Sarmiento wrote on Facebook.
Netizens praised de Leon’s act, which has gone viral. They also sent good wishes for Ethan’s speedy recovery.
